Why, you may ask, are devoted Democratic activists demanding violence? Democratic Party lawmakers are concerned, because activists are showing up at townhall meetings.
Many of these voters “tend to be white, well-educated and live in upscale suburban or urban neighborhoods,” the sources said. And some of them, according to the report, are literally calling for blood in the streets.
OK. It’s one of my favorite themes. I first picked it up from Curtis Yarvin’s Gray Mirror piece in June 2021. Said he:
There is no politics without an enemy.
Pretty soon I was using the idea to critique lefty Kate Raworth’s Doughnut Economics. Then I was noting how Labourite lefties in Britain were all enemied up, especially with the rise of Jeremy Corbin. Then I commented on George Sorel’s Reflections on Violence and how he wrote that trade-union violence was OK but that the
Political General Strike by middle-class socialists is not OK.
The point is that the workers don’t strike unless they are getting pay cuts during deflation or falling behind during inflation.
But political violence for the educated class is not reactive but prescriptive. It has to be because the educated class believes in the power of politics to create justice and “there is no politics without an enemy” and sooner or later with politics there is “no alternative” but to go to war with the enemy.
Then there was Elias Rodriguez accused of killing a couple of Israeli diplomats in May. Here is my Four Point analysis of lefty politics:
The fundamental belief of the Enlightenment was that its politics would lead to a juster world.
There is no politics without an enemy.
Injecting politics into reform leads to assassinations and civil war.
Injecting morality into politics leads to religious war.
My point is that, of course lefty politics leads to violence and assassinations and civil war. It always has and always will. It’s baked into the political cake.
And so AntiFa is having a grand old time besieging the ICE building in Portland.
And Democratic politicians are desperately trying to get out into the public square and protest against Trump and calm their supporters baying for blood.
“We’ve got people who are desperately wanting us to do something … no matter what we say, they want [more],” said Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.), the chair of the center-left New Democrat Coalition, told Axios.
But, the Democrat politicians whine, the more we push back against Trump the more powerful he becomes.
But then I went back to Curtis Yarvin’s “Vae Victis” piece written after the 2020 election where he said that the Republican Party of the 1980s was going to lose forever.
But when I wrote about Yarvin’s piece I said:
I wrote on Election Day in "Donald Trump, the Sacrificial Hero," that if Trump were reelected he would go down as just another two-term president. But if he were thrown out, then he would become a Sacrificial Hero, and become a great American myth for the ages.
Of course, that was nothing compared to the Donald Trump of Butler, PA, shouting “Fight. Fight. Fight.” Because a Sacrificial Hero that survives to fight another day is practically a god.
The great challenge for our liberal friends is how to finesse the January 6 event at the Capitol that liberals and experts all agreed was the worst armed insurrection in US history. If January 6 was an “armed insurrection” then what is AntiFa. What are liberal activists baying for blood?
More research is needed.
