Debate: The Day After
let the fun begin
You know the world has changed when our media friends have to put out an explainer that the Tucker - Trump interview with 234,000,000 views (and counting) does not represent 234 million people actually watching the whole thing, but everything from a person watching the whole thing multiple times to someone just scrolling past it on their X, formerly known as Twitter, feed.
But still, 234 million views! Godfrey Daniels, Mother of Pearl. (You W.C. Fields fans will know the real meaning of that innocent phrase.)
But actually, I was a bit disappointed in the interview. I wanted more red meat about how Trump was going to rip up the carpet in his next term.
So I didn’t watch the GOP debate, but from what AP says, it sounds as if Vivek did OK and the other guys ganged up on him.
With regard to Vivek, I’m still all flummoxed that he mentioned the inverted yield curve on his Tucker interview. Is that allowed? I would have thought that it would totally flummox the average independent voter, and that would be wrong.
If you are flummoxed by the yield curve, you can check out the Explainer on my usgovernmentspending.com site. It’s really pretty simple. If there is a normal yield curve, then chances are the Fed is fighting recession. If the yield curve is “inverted”then the Fed is fighting inflation, as right now.
Here’s Vivek making his pitch to Sean Hannity after the debate.
But I do think, Sean, it’s going to take an outsider. I do not think, whether it’s ending the war in Ukraine, whether its reviving this economy. And the war I do really want to fight is the war on the administrative state and the shadow government here at home. That is not going to happen from someone who comes from the Super-PAC class.
Funny how Vivek gets into trouble with the super-PAC class when he talks about ending the war in Ukraine.
Hey! I don’t have a clue what comes next. All I know is that I get the feeling that the foundations are shaking, and I think that after the 2024 election is over we will realize that we are living in interesting times. Our educated ruling class is losing its grip, and it is getting desperate. That’s what all the Get Trump stuff is about. It cannot be, cannot be, that the wise and educated ruling class of the last century has Made Things Worse and is about to be thrown into the garbage dump of history. It cannot be.
