The latest info from the Italian election is tha the leftish Democratic Party mainly gets its votes from the educated class.
Really, it’s not surprising. Socialism, communism, the welfare state, the administrative state: what do they all have in common? Answer: Jobs for Gentry, the educated gentry that is the second tier of our modern ruling class.
I just read today about “Biden Admin Gives $41 Million in Contracts to Soros-Linked Group to Help Illegal Aliens Fight Deportations.” Do you see the point? The folks that work at the Acacia Center for Justice are not workers. They are not middle class deplorables. They are educated activists: Jobs for Gentry.
The same is true of our university system. The universities have always been primarily organizations for training priests in the state church, or educating young upper-class sprouts to be effective rulers. But now they are a massive Jobs for Gentry program whose job is to indoctrinate young people in the current state ideology.
And the state ideology is always about slaying some evil dragons. That’s because politics is always about the enemy. And politics results in victory or defeat.
In our society the ruling class has embarked on two dragon quests. The first is to slay the climate change dragon. The second is to slay the systemic racism dragon.
In my humble opinion, both these noble quests are doomed to disaster, and the sooner the better.
I’d say that the climate-change quest is going to self-destruct this winter, as Europe is reduced to burning firewood to stay warm, and as energy prices skyrocket all over the world. Make it stop, Mr President, or let someone else fix the energy mess. By the way, how’s that EV doing down in Fort Myers, FL, in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian and 2,000,000 people out of electric power?
I’d say that the systemic racism quest is going to self-destruct because the ordinary middle class, of whatever race, doesn’t buy it. Systemic racism is cool with the educated gentry, because Jobs for Gentry. But it isn’t cool with the white middle class and working class, and, it looks like it isn’t cool with Latinos. That’s probably because Latinos don’t experience themselves as a race, but as Mexican Americans, Venezuelan Americans, Cuban Americans, you name it.
I’m not a fan of Vladimir Lenin, but sometimes the only way to clear away stupid ideas is with his maxim “The worse the better.” And maybe he never said it.
