Sending Border Crossers to Sanctuary Cities

and liberals are outraged

I hadn’t realized how angry my liberal friends were about eevil Republican governors sending illegal aliens to sanctuary cities.

Until a liberal neighbor expostulated “it’s illegal!” to a fellow liberal who agreed completely. And that was before Ron DeSantis started air-dropping illegals into Martha’s Vineyard.

Yes, dear liberal friend: it’s illegal. But so are sanctuary states and sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement on illegal immigrants that end up in the criminal justice system.

“But That’s Different!”

I agree. Just as Trumpists challenging the presidential election of 2020 is different from Democrats protesting the presidential election of 2016, and Democrats protesting the presidential election of 2000. As they say: “it’s different when we do it.”

It’s easy to get angry about all this, including the present full-court FBI press on anyone associated with Trump.

You see a similar thing going on with the recent Swedish election in which the Sweden Democrats came in second in the voting behind the Swedish Social Democrats. But it looks like the other parties will not allow the “far right” Sweden Democrats to participate in the next government.

Carolin Dahlman, a Swedish right-wing liberal writer, suggested that just the Moderates and the Christian Democrats will form the government, leaving the Sweden Democrats and the Liberals out, claiming the latte [!] two parties would have too difficult of a time sitting in government together due to their ideological differences.

In Sweden, as here, the ruling class is not ready to allow the representatives of the Commoner middle class into the corridors of power.

Should the Commoners here and elsewhere take to the streets and “burn the place down” as lefties like to threaten, every now and again?

Really, I think not. Sooner or later our current ruling class will have to step aside and allow new blood to take control.

My guess is that as time passes the existing ruling class will get more and more desperate to stay in power, and will overreach more and more with clumsy actions like “ultra-MAGA” and the use of the FBI to grab peoples’ cell phones. And the green energy policies will start to hurt more and more people, and the people will be looking for a leader to Make It Stop.

And one fine day the Commoner middle class will elect a government with majorities sufficient to change the rules. And that will be that.
