Upon election as head of the American Library Association, Emily Drabinski tweeted:
“I just cannot believe that a Marxist lesbian who believes that collective power is possible to build and can be wielded for a better world is the president-elect of @ALALibrary,” Drabinski wrote. “I am so excited for what we will do together. Solidarity! And my mom is SO PROUD. I love you mom.”
I can, because it is easier for a lesbian Marxist to go through the eye of a needle than, say, for a Christian churchgoer to become president of the American Library Association.
And honey, when you say “collective power,” that is another word for “force.” And if you say that “collective power … can be wielded for a better world” you are saying that the way to build a better world is by force (wielded by the right people, of course).
And if you can’t see it, Ms. Drabinski, I remind you of the Holodomor in the Ukraine in 1932-33 that cost 3.5 to 5 million lives. And the famine in China after the Great Leap Forward that is estimated to have cost 50 million lives.
That’s what Marx-inspired “collective power” did for the Ukrainians and the Chinese in the 20th century.
But here’s another Drabinski tweet, from March 20, 2023:
What @melissagira gets really right here is that it’s collective power, library workers organizing together, that offers the best hope of clawing our public institutions back from the forces that would decimate them.
Do you see the crazy-cakes here? Here we have almost all the public institutions in America owned and/or tamed by the ruling-class left. Yet Emily Drabinski thinks that the challenge is to claw libraries back from “forces,” and it will be library “workers” rather than the library presidents and managers that will do it.
Now, Victor Davis Hanson has a piece today where he lists all the lefty disaster areas from criminal justice to the border, saying “Woke continues because its privileged creators believe What I create for others, certainly will not apply to me.’”
He gives examples of how liberal supporters aren’t too happy with things, from liberal professionals leaving blue cities to “African-Americans in Chicago are demonstrating against mass influxes of illegal aliens”.
And liberal voters are starting to suffer from gender politics and green energy and outright discrimination against upper-class liberal whites in college admissions.
But what would it take for liberal leaders to get the message? I’d say not until the liberal leader on his white horse looks around and discovers that nobody is following him.
The point is that if you believe that you are a noble Ally fighting for the Oppressed Peoples against the White Oppressors then it is easy to believe that the police are monsters whacking innocent oppressed poor people from traditionally marginalized communities, and think nothing about the ordinary people being attacked and robbed and sometimes killed by said oppressed peoples. It is easy to believe that illegal immigrants crossing the border have a right to live where they want, and think nothing of the low-income Americans whose wage levels are reduced and access to housing is reduced by the influx.
And it doesn’t hurt that most of the Oppressed Peoples vote for Democrats.
The fact is that life in this world is a nasty ugly thing, and rulers and police and judges really don’t have a clue what to do with criminals except arrest them and prosecute them and lock them up. Doesn’t solve anything but it keeps the criminals off the street.
Same thing with illegal immigrants. All these folks want is to live in a decent place and work and raise their kids in a country that is only fifty percent kleptocratic rather than the 100 percent kleptocracy they left behind. But the job of the government is first to protect the American people, as individuals, as a culture, as a nation, and as a community.
You see, those two items, criminal justice and immigration are areas that really do need force. Force: that’s what government does, from wars to night-sticking criminals.
But, let’s face it, our leaders are, in their various ways, just like lesbian Marxist Emily Drabinski. They know they are doing the right thing, and so they won’t stop until they are stopped.
That’s our job.
