Misunderstanding the Groyper Problem
there has to be a better way
It’s now about a week since I philosophized at American Thinker about the moral equivalence of Nick Fuentes and Zohran Mamdani. I wrote:
The white working class has been struggling for decades… And it is angry. The young white college class is presently struggling … And it is angry.
That’s how politics gets its energy. Some group thinks it’s getting screwed, and so some damn politician identifies an enemy for them and gets them all riled up.
There is no politics without an enemy.
Today I read a piecce by Rod Dreyer, visiting from Hungary, who has discovered that the young GOP political operatives in Washington, DC, are all Groypers and anti-semites. He and the conservative establishment in the US are fainting with horror.
Every one of them is appalled by what’s happening… and all have serious doubts about the ability of the institutional Right to deal with it.
When you think about it, the institutional Right is in the same position as what we will call the “institutional Left” — people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. The kids are spiralling out of control into rage and anger and want to burn the place down, and both, on left and right, exhibit anti-semitic tendencies.
The difference is that the Ron Dreyers of the world are publically horrified by the right-wing orcs, but the Chucks and Nancys of the world… Well, I have a suspicion that they are horrified too, but dare not say so.
As I said a few days ago:
But all of it means that the current ruling class has screwed up the economy and The People aren’t going to take it any more.
Only The People are divided into the Fuentist Groypers and the Mamdani AntiFas. And that’s not good because some damn politician will figure how to divide and then conquer them.
But why is everyone taking out after the Jews? What is going on?
Perfectly simple. It is explained precisely by my Four Wars theory that I developed a few years ago.
Are you mad as hell and not going to take it any more? You have four options:
Fight a small minority for a quick win.
Fight the other half of the nation for a civil war.
Fight a small nation for a quick win.
Fight the other half of the world for a world war.
You can see that anyone with half a brain is going to realize that beating up on a small minority is the best choice of the Four Wars. Which is why the Jews have been on the receiving end so much over the centuries, and why the radical right and the radical left are both anti-semitic right now.
But, back in the day when I was developing my Four Wars concept I wrote a piece on Innoence: “Jews, Anti-semitism, and the ‘Other’”.
See, I have a problem with innocence culture. I think that in the modern era with the market economy and the city culture people have to get beyond a reactive innocence culture and grow up a little. Because nobody is innocent; nobody is perfect.
And I noticed that one of the themes in Christianity is that we are all sinners. Nobody gets to play the Innocent.
You will notice that our lefty friends with their Allyship political formula have a highly developed Innocence culture. They are always fighting for the Innocent Oppressed Peoples against the Guilty White Oppressors.
Dear liberal friends: you are better than that.
I concluded my disquisition on Innocence by saying:
Obviously, if we humans are to ascend from the dusty plain of political conflict to the ethereal heights that soar above such petty squabbles, we all have to shed the armor of innocence.
It really does no good for Groypers and AntiFas to rail about the injustice of the world. The point is to do something about it — apart from bloody revolution.
As Carlota Perez writes in Technological Revolutionss, we moderns have transformed the material basis of life in five breathtaking technological revolutions in the last few hundred years. And the sixth, the AI revolution, is just getting started.
And Martin Gurri with his Five Waves of communications has showed that the three media revolutions of the last 500 years, starting with the Gutenberg press, have also transformed human society.
There has got to be a better way than Groyping and AntiFa-ing.
