Little Darlings

Ruling classes have their supporters, and according to the rule of politics they must supply them with loot and plunder for their valuable services to the regime.
But in our age we have not just the active supporters of the ruling class but the helpless victims on whose behalf the ruling class acts. It was Karl Marx that invented this political concept by founding the Communist Party of educated youth who would fight for the proletarians against the bourgeoisie.
I call these clients of the ruling class "Little Darlings."
But I have come to regard this notion as similar to the rich guy and his mistress, his Little Darling that he showers with gifts and jewelry. Until she grows a little too old, or starts to act up. Then our Sugar Daddy drops her, poor thing, for a newer model.
And she thought he really loved her.
That is what has happened to the white working class in the United States and elsewhere. There was a time when the progressive ruling class lived and died to help the working class. But no longer. Today the progressive ruling class is making love to women and minorities.
Today we speak of the white working class "dying of despair," although I suspect that discarded mistresses have lived forever on their rage.
But I wonder when the progressive ruling class will grow tired of women and minorities in their turn?
Not yet: that we know.
