I guess the Crit Theorists read a million books and it never crossed their minds that the people who claim they want to "liberate" you could be just as evil and oppressive as any other more traditional faction.
Just goes to show you: there is always an enormous and unpredictable difference bw how your ideas appear in the mad-scientist laboratory called Academia vs how they will be wielded and weaponized once they escape out into the world and are picked up by the hoi polloi.
(Also, did Adorno, Horkheimer et al. actually know any working people besides their maids and butlers?)
