and what is so special about the treasury payment system

Well, we are seeing mostly peaceful protests blocking the 101 freeway in LA, and mostly peaceful protests in front the US Treasury, and two Dem congress-girls barging into Speaker Johnson’s office to protest “about Elon Musk's team gaining access to a sensitive payment system at the Treasury Department.” That’s according to an article on USAID-funded Politico.

What I find interesting is the “tell.”

I mean, it was the end of the world when tthe J6 protesters paraded through the Capitol: “armed insurrection” by people that were unarmed. Everybody knew that.

But hey! It’s OK to block a freeway protesting the deporting of illegal aliens. It’s OK to protest outside the Treasury Department. Nothing to see here!

But it’s monstrous that a private citizen, Elon Musk, should be monitoring and checking on the payment system at the Treasury Department. I’m sure that the two congress-critters that barged into Speaker Johnson’s office knew nothing about the report that, maybe, access to the Treasury payments system could enable ivestigation of fraudulent payments, such as in Medicare.

Needless to say, Senator Warren (D-MA) is deeply concerned.

Yes, Sen. Warren, I am deeply concerned too. Not about my grandfatherly Social Security check that I expect will come through in a couple of weeks as usual.

No, I am concerned about your concern for the government’s payment system. What on Earth could be the problem?

It couldn’t be, could it, that we voters and taxpayers might see stuff we peasants are not supposed to see?

I mean: surely Elon Musk and his crew of four tech kids couldn’t possibly unearth a massive looting operation that is taking food out of the mouths of little kiddies and putting Social Security for grandpa at risk and expose grandma’s Medicare as a gigantic fraud? No, it must be something closer to home for my Democratic friends.

But what? What are youse guys so worried about?

It ccouldn’t be could it, that we will find out that the federal government’s grants to NGOs is a huge corrupt system that recycles a proportion of grant moneys back to the politicians that OK the grants?

I can’t wait to find out!

But I am shocked, shocked that Democratic officeholders from Sen. Schumer on down are making threats and threatening to “fight.”

This is just not the way we do things in “Our Democracy.”

UPDATE: Gotta like this about USAID:

When the dust settles we are going to find out that most of the domestic terror we have seen the last few years (think BLM and INTIFA riots) were funded by USAID. That is just the tip of the iceberg.
